Benefits

Washes oil and product off your roots and scalp.

Your hair rinses clean and dries with a glossy finish.

Aloe, betaine and wheat protein, so a real clean still feels smooth.

Work it into your scalp and let the rinse carry it through your lengths.
Why we made it
Massage into wet roots and scalp, then let the foam rinse through the lengths. Follow with conditioner on the ends.
Sodium Coco-Sulfate works with coconut and glucoside cleansers to wash away oil and buildup. Aloe, betaine and wheat protein help hair feel smooth afterward. Massage into wet roots and scalp, then rinse through the lengths. It isn't sulfate-free and doesn't change how much oil your scalp produces.
The ritual
Wet your hair.
Massage Clean Wash into your roots and scalp with your fingertips until it lathers.
Let the foam rinse through the rest of your hair. No need to scrub your ends.
Rinse well, then use the gloss conditioner on your ends.
The formula

Organic aloe leaf juice. It's the very first ingredient, ahead of water.
Helps smooth the surface of the hair, so a real clean still feels soft. Contains gluten.

Woody and green, with smoky vetiver. The gloss conditioner shares the scent.
A little more clarity
How do I clean oily roots without roughening the ends?
Will it really clean oily roots?
For wash days when your roots need cleansing and you want a fresh, glossy finish. It replaces your regular shampoo. You can keep the conditioner you already enjoy; you do not need a full PALIM routine.
Wash as often as your scalp and hair need. Massage into wet roots and scalp, then rinse. A second wash can help when there is more oil or styling product to remove, but it is optional.
Clean Wash removes oil and buildup during washing. How soon oil returns depends on your scalp; we do not promise a set number of oil-free days. Between washes, a dry shampoo can refresh the roots when needed.
Focus the shampoo on your scalp and roots, letting the foam rinse through your lengths. Follow with your usual conditioner on the mid-lengths and ends. Your ends do not need the same scrubbing as your roots.
It contains Sodium Coco-Sulfate, so it is not sulfate-free. We have not tested it as a color-safe shampoo. If your color or treatment needs a particular shampoo, follow that aftercare advice before choosing this one.
It is vegan, silicone-free and nut-free. It contains hydrolyzed wheat protein and is not gluten-free. You will find the complete ingredient list above so you can check it against your own sensitivities.
Woody and green, with notes of freshly cut grass and smoky vetiver. Soft Conditioner has the same scent. Both contain fragrance.
Only if your scalp needs an occasional extra step. If shampoo alone leaves it comfortable and clean, that may be enough. A scalp serum or scrub is optional and does not replace shampoo.
