You like the idea of an oil treatment. You do not like the idea of spending the rest of the day with heavy-looking hair. Those two feelings can coexist. A pre-wash oil gives you a different option: put it on before the shower, then shampoo it out.
Why before the wash?
Leave-in oils are designed to remain on the hair, so the amount and finish matter all day. A pre-wash oil is a temporary conditioning step. You can give dry-feeling lengths a richer application without making that finish your final hairstyle.
That is the role of Pre-Wash Oil. It is a botanical oil formula containing sunflower, castor, sweet almond, argan and other oils, including rosemary and peppermint. It is not a hair-growth or regrowth treatment.
Where to apply it
Start with a few drops on dry mid-lengths and ends. Work them through the parts that feel dry rather than pouring oil over the entire head. The product directions also allow scalp application if desired, but you do not have to oil the scalp to care for your ends. If your roots are already oily, keeping the first application to the lengths may be the more comfortable choice.
How long should it stay on?
Leave Pre-Wash Oil for at least fifteen minutes, then shampoo thoroughly and rinse. If hair still feels oily after rinsing, repeat the wash as needed. There is no need to invent an overnight rule or assume that more oil always means more benefit.
What should you use afterwards?
Use Clean Wash at the scalp and roots. Let the rinse move through the lengths, then decide how much conditioning they still need. You can follow with Soft Conditioner if the ends call for it; the pre-wash oil is not automatically a replacement for every other product.
What if it feels difficult to wash out?
Reduce the amount next time. Start smaller, distribute it evenly and pay attention to how much shampoo is required to remove it. A pre-wash ritual should make the rest of your routine feel easier, not leave you washing repeatedly to undo an excessive application.
Read the label before you start
Pre-Wash Oil contains sweet almond oil, fragrance and essential oils. If you have relevant allergies or sensitivities, check the complete INCI. Avoid irritated skin and discontinue use if discomfort occurs.
