What every ingredient does

Aqua/Water: Water: the base the other ingredients are dissolved in.
Butylene Glycol: A solvent and humectant that helps dissolve the actives and hold moisture.
Parfum/Fragrance: The fragrance blend.
Sodium Levulinate: A plant-derived ingredient that supports the preservative system and conditions.
Hydrolyzed Keratin: Keratin broken into small pieces, from sheep wool. It conditions and helps protect against breakage.
Sodium Benzoate: A preservative that keeps the formula safe to use.
Lactic Acid: A gentle acid: it exfoliates in the scalp serum, and adjusts the pH in the other formulas.
Phenethyl Alcohol: Supports the preservative system and adds a soft rose-like note.
Furcellaria Lumbricalis Extract: A red algae extract: conditions and leaves a light film on the hair.
Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate: A natural preservative made by fermenting radish root.

A light, no-rinse mist with keratin and algae extract to help the comb glide through damp lengths. Mist the mid-lengths and ends, then comb gently. It isn't a heat protectant. We recommend it on clean, damp hair.

Is there a lightweight leave-in for fine hair?

Is this a heat protectant, and can I use it on dry hair?

The PALIM approach · Keratin leave-in mist Use a separate heat protectant with hot tools. We recommend the mist on clean, damp lengths; we haven't tested it on dry hair.

A few things worth knowing

Will it feel heavy on fine hair?

Begin with two sprays on clean, damp mid-lengths and ends, keeping them away from the roots. For longer or thicker hair, start with two or three and add a little only where needed. A light application is a good place to begin.

Should I use it on wet or dry hair?

Use it on clean, damp lengths after washing, then gently comb through. It stays in; there is no need to rinse. We have not tested it on dry hair.

Do I still need conditioner?

Conditioner rinses out; this mist stays on for the comb-through. You can use it after your usual shampoo and conditioner. If conditioner already leaves your ends soft and easy to comb, you may not need both.

Does it protect from heat?

It is not a heat protectant. If you blow-dry or use hot tools, use a dedicated heat protectant as directed. This mist is the conditioning and detangling step.

Will it repair split ends?

It helps smooth and detangle lengths, so there is less tugging as you comb. It cannot mend an existing split end; only a trim removes one.

Is it vegan or nut-free?

It is nut-free, but it is not vegan: the keratin comes from sheep wool. The full ingredients are listed above for any other sensitivities you want to check.

Does it contain silicones?

No. The formula includes hydrolyzed keratin, algae extract and lactic acid. You can see every ingredient and its role in the ingredient section above.

What does it smell like?

Green, floral and watery, with citrus and geranium oils. It contains fragrance. If fragrance or essential oils tend to trouble your scalp or skin, check the full ingredient list before choosing it.
